DFW Tzus Adoption Application

We have been having some issues the last few days with our Adoption Application sometimes giving a "timed out" message when you click on SUBMIT after completion.  We hope to have this error cleared up very soon.  In the interim, if you get this "timed out" message, click the REFRESH button at top of your screen. It will bring the app back up and then you can click SUBMIT again and screen should say SUCCESS if app goes through. You can also copy and fax completed app to our 888-290-3335, or scan and email to info@dfwtzusandmorerescue.com Thanks for your patience!!

DFW Shih Tzu Rescue/K-9 Direction Work to Get Shih Tzu Adrian Beltre Adoptable

DFW Shih Tzu Rescue Adrian BeltreWe highly recommend the excellent Petsmart Training classes, but sometimes a little Tzu comes along that needs more intense training, and that is when we turn to Alan Brown with K-9 Direction ( www.k-9direction.com ). Our Adrian Beltre is a gorgeous little boy with personality plus and high energy. However when we rescued him from an area shelter at about 7 months old, he had not been socialized and probably had been abused.

Happy New Year from DFW Shih Tzu Rescue

We want to thank all of our sponsors, adopters, and volunteers for your help and support in 2011. We couldn't do what we do without YOU. Our DFWTAMR volunteers wish all of our Tzu pals a New Year filled with happiness, health, prosperity, and the love of a canine buddy,, or two or more;-) In 2012, we at DFW Tzus hope to meet many great new adopters and hope to find the very best furever homes for our homeless dogs. We will strive to save and re-home as many needy furbabies as possible with your help in the coming year.

Tzu Review/Adoption Event Saturday, Dec. 31 11-2

Excellent furbabies just keep streaming into our Rescue! No one can believe that their original owners just let them get away...who wouldn't go to the ends of the earth to find some of these great little fluffs,,,,but their loss is definitely your gain. If you are even remotely thinking of adding a new Tzu or Lhasa to your family, don't miss our fabulous group of darling mop dogs @ Euless Petsmart on Saturday, December 31, from 11-2. Hope to see you there!

Ho Ho Ho...DFW Shih Tzu Rescue Adopters' Rock!

WOW! We are overwhelmed by the generous spirit of our many friends and adopters who came out over the weekend for our Santa Photos. We are so grateful to you for bringing your dogs back to visit with us, and also grateful to the many who made additional donations to us while at Petsmart. A big thank you to others who couldn't make it out to Euless, but sent donations instead. You have all helped to make it a much better Christmas season for our many homeless dogs. And a thank you to one special adopter who brought us some very special cupcakes that you can see on the rotation.

How Can You Help Us Save More Homeless Shih Tzu?

There are several easy, no cost ways you can help us raise additional funds for our rescued furbabies. Even small amounts add up just like small vets bills add up. IF you eat, you can help;-) We are set up with THREE grocery stores who donate funds back to us based on your purchases once you have registered DFW Tzus as your recipient. The first is Tom Thumb. Click here and print out the form, add #12210 as DFW Tzus charity number and take it to the  Tom Thumb customer service counter.  Next is Kroger.

Breaking News! Shih Tzu Rescue Johnny Galecki Finds His Perfect Forever Home!

Update to the Johnny Galecki story: Johnny doesn't have to ask "Why" he doesn't get a forever home like the other dogs any longer. He now has his happy ending.  After losing an eye to big dogs, going  through heartworm treatment and being in foster care for 14 months,  Johnny Galecki has found his forever home.  He really hit the jackpot too.  A lovely home, a huge backyard to roam, plenty of squirrels to torment, a new older canine sister and a  very loving mom and dad are now in his future.  He is home at last,,, and content in the arms of his new parents.  It was a bittersweet adoption for his foster Mom, Jenn. She is so thrilled for Johnny's good fortune, but sad to see him go, of course.

Shih Tzu Rescue Updates

As we sadly reported earlier, Angie Dickenson's heart surgery wasn't successful. But for now, this little girl is doing great! She is an active puppy in every sense of the word. She is treated like a little princess by her foster Dad, and he says she has already developed a strong sense of entitlement and tries to run the household...hehe. Angie has even gotten the older inactive dogs to play with her. Rest assured that for whatever time Angie has left, she will be pampered and spoiled. A HUGE THANKS to all who contributed to Angie's surgery. We appreciate your generousity so much! That means that DFWTAM can use regular funds to save more dogs.
