DFW Shih Tzu Rescue/K-9 Direction Work to Get Shih Tzu Adrian Beltre Adoptable

DFW Shih Tzu Rescue Adrian BeltreWe highly recommend the excellent Petsmart Training classes, but sometimes a little Tzu comes along that needs more intense training, and that is when we turn to Alan Brown with K-9 Direction ( www.k-9direction.com ). Our Adrian Beltre is a gorgeous little boy with personality plus and high energy. However when we rescued him from an area shelter at about 7 months old, he had not been socialized and probably had been abused. He would get aggressive if anyone tried to put a collar, bandana, or anything else around his neck or touched his face. He also barked inappropriately. After 2 weeks of boarding and training with Alan, and an obedience class today with his new foster Mom, Heidi, at the helm, this little boy has seemed to have turned the corner. Adrian only met Heidi for the first time today, but after their obedience class together, Adrian let Heidi take his collar on and off, slip on his colorful necklace for the photo, even though he thought it was pretty dorky,,,hehe, as well as put on the harness for the car and remove it once they were home. He was totally quiet in the car both in a crate and later in his car harness for the last leg of the trip. We will keep you posted on this endearing furbaby's progress.
