Good-bye 2009.....and Looking Forward to a Great 2010

We can't say we are sad to see 2009 end. It has been a tough year for pets, and for Rescues alike. From numerous large puppy mill seizures to abandoned and surrendered family pets, many pets have suffered this past year. The good news is that we have seen an outpouring of generosity from the community and from the many animal rescue volunteers across the DFW Metroplex and beyond, in addition to making significant inroads to stopping puppy mills. DFW Tzus and More would like to thank the many generous people who donated both time and money this past year, and of course, those wonderful people who have adopted our dogs. We could not have successfully saved so many little fluffy dogs without YOU!

Much Needed Funds Earned to Help Homeless Shih Tzu and Lhasas

Thanks to a lot of hard work by many DFWTAMR volunteers, especially Rita and Missie, our rummage sales were a success! A big thanks to the volunteers who contributed items, priced, set up, and worked the sales. The two sales brought in several hundred dollars which will be used towards the medical needs of our homeless dogs. More funds are still needed though, as the dogs continue to stream into our program! If you would like to make a contribution towards our veterinary bills, please click on our DONATE button on our make a difference page.

Shih Tzu Rescue Extravaganza: Montague County Puppy Mill Dogs Debut on Saturday, August 29

You have heard about the positive progress of our "Lost" dogs from the Montague County puppy mill seizure. We invite you to come out to meet them in person this coming Saturday, August 29 from 11-1 at Vineyard Village Petsmart in Euless. This will be their first showing. These darling little fluffs have touched our volunteer's hearts, and we know they will touch yours.

Even though our puppy mill dogs have made great strides, please remember that any dog who has lived his/her life in a cage with very little human interaction will take extra time, attention, and affection after adoption, but they are definitely worth it!
