Cheryl T.

Pet Name:
dog 3

My name is Cheryl, and I am a member of the “GTV.” I am caretaker of four “humans” so they say, and caretaker of “five” four legged bundles of fur. Why? There is a need inside me to protect those that need protection and give back something of myself to those that cannot find their way. If their way ends up in a sparse cage or inhumane and unlivable surrounding, then I feel the need to take the fright out of their path and fill that feeling with a feeling of safety and security. When they enter our life and our home, that fear will never enter their lives again. Volunteering is a natural way of life for me and mine. We are natural protectors and WE are the ones that really reap the benefits. We are the ones that cannot get enough of taking our fur balls in, feeding them their SPECIAL foods, administering their medications, diapering their OLD behinds when necessary and establishing a VET-- TECH station, all their own. Their little corner of the world is dedicated to many different diets, many different medications, and many different necessities to make their life as comfortable as there can be for them. Volunteering is not a job, it is the most fulfilling experience there is when you look into the eyes of a dog and see the reaction that he or she knows they will never experience what they have been through in the past. Their future will be loving and bright and protected. They absolutely know it, and you can absolutely feel it at that very moment. From that time on, you, as one of THOSE humans, grow a little more. That is called “GTV.” Oh, and by the way, that Club is “Growth Through Volunteering.” Join it soon. You will never be the same.
